Ambiguity | 2023-2022

Ambiguity – the quality of being open to more than one interpretation; inexactness.

The true challenge of artistically illustrating science is figuring out ways to communicate the information onto the surface of canvas or paper. My paintings and drawings naturally lean into an ambiguous nature, reminiscent of how there are concepts we can observe with the naked eye and others we know only through theory. Many of these pieces were inspired by studies into aromatic chemistry and food science, a multilayered field of interactions.
